2008 SUMMER YOUTH CAMP!

We will have our second diocesan summer youth camp at the Pope John Paul II Youth Camp in Peas, Limay. Please encourage your youth leaders in the parish to avail of the summer youth leaders formation program.

The program has two levels. We offer a Basic Formation in Youth Ministry and an Advanced Course in Youth Ministry.

The Basic Course in Youth Ministry is open to all youth leaders in the parish who were not able to attend the summer camp last year. They must be between 15 to 25 years old and have been engaged in some form of youth service in the parish. Here is the schedule of the basic course per vicariate:

April 28 to 30, 2008 Vicariate of Saint Dominic

May 1 to 3, 2008 Vicariate of Saint Michael the Archangel

May 12 to 14, 2008 Vicariate of Our Lady of the Pillar

May 15 to 17, 2008 Vicariate of Saint Peter of Verona

Each batch of the Basic Course is limited to 100 participants. The priest youth director in the vicariate will help you in allocating the number of participants to every parish. The youth participant must pay a solidarity fee of P100.00 while the parish will pay a counterpart fee of P100.00 too. This solidarity fee will take care of the food expenses and the seminar materials.

The Advanced Course in Youth Ministry is exclusively for those who attended levels one and two of the summer camps last year. The parish priests are kindly requested to choose diligently the parish delegates because the program presumes that the youth leaders are mature, responsible and committed. They must be between 18 to 30 years old. Here is the schedule of the advanced course per vicariate:

April 21 to 23, 2008 Vicariate of Saint Dominic

April 24 to 26, 2008 Vicariate of Saint Michael the Archangel

May 5 to 7, 2008 Vicariate of Our Lady of the Pillar

May 8 to 10, 2008 Vicariate of Saint Peter of Verona

Each batch of the Advanced Course is limited to 60 participants. The youth leaders must pay a solidarity fee of P150.00 while the parish will pay the counterpart fee of P150.00 too. The solidarity fee will take care of their food expenses and other seminar materials.

The Basic and Advanced Courses will all begin at 8:00 in the morning of Day One and end with at lunchtime on Day Three.

I encourage you to give your parish youth leaders a chance to avail of these summer programs. The Diocesan Youth Ministry offers these programs so that your parish youth leaders can return to the parish ministry with renewed vigor and fervor.

I am counting on your support for the youth. Thank you again.

Sincerely yours,
