OPEN LETTER TO MAYOR JOET GARCIA ON THE CLOSURE OF NIGHT CLUBS IN BALANGA CITY

Dear Mayor Garcia:
I am very pleased to know of your noble dream and vision for Balanga to be a wholesome city for our students and youth. The university town identity that you wish to pursue for Balanga City is praiseworthy and commendable. This vision for the city surely deserves our support and encouragement.
Your campaign to rid the city of vices and all forms of entertainment that are inconsistent with the holistic education and formation of the youth is likewise noble and great. I have been informed that the third week of January 2009 has been set as the deadline for the operation of night clubs and similar businesses. Please be assured of my personal support and blessings. We are also ready and willing to collaborate with the city government in providing alternative livelihood and offering counseling services for those who will be displaced by the closure of night clubs.
I believe in your political will to pursue this vision. Needless to say, I know there will be some sectors that will make it difficult for you to implement this platform of governance. I encourage you: Do not be afraid! You are doing a great service to the city. Do not relent! Pursue this vision with wholehearted dedication. God be with you and may His blessings carry you through.
